Advanced Communicators of Charlotte

Johnny is a charter member of the High Energy Toastmasters club.  This is a corporate club at Duke Energy in Charlotte, NC.  He has been a Toastmaster for five years.  

Most notable Toastmasters’ accomplishments:

Outside of Toastmasters:   

Currently he is a project manager at Duke Energy and has been at Duke for 32 years working  in many capacities in construction, construction maintenance, nuclear, shared services, and the supply chain operations area.  As a project manager and professional trainer he has traveled extensively conducting training classes on utilizing specific software to manage projects.  In this capacity he has been privileged to train in Australia, Brazil, France, Canada, and throughout the continental US getting a chance to meet a diverse group of people and to come to appreciate many cultures. 

At Duke he is also active in the Leadership Development Network (a network setup to provide an opportunity for employees to develop leadership skills), serving on the Steering Team, plus chairing the Community Involvement and Health and Wellness committee.  Currently working with the HR department to setup a wellness program at Duke where he serves on the Wellness Council. 

Over the years Johnny has owned and operated several businesses including a professional photography & framing business where he specialized in family portraits, weddings, and sports photography.  Along with his brother he owns a remodeling business, specializing in custom cabinetry and custom designed furniture.

Johnny is an ordained minister and over the past 25 years has started 2 churches and is currently the pastor of Berean Grace Church in Charlotte, NC. 

He lives in Charlotte with his wife, Rebecca.  They have 3 grown sons Stephen, Phillip, & Robert. They also are proud grandparents of 4 grandchildren.
